WOODEN FENCES

Designed with You in Mind

THE SCOOP ON OUR WOODEN FENCES

Wooden fences made of cedar are the most traditional fences in America and often the most affordable. We believe our line-up of cedar fences is pretty awesome. Sure, we offer some of the same mainstream products as other companies, but we have a great selection of unique styles designed just for you.

Want a traditional picket fence to accent your home or protect your veggie garden? We got ‘em! Do you want privacy? Our privacy fences will transform your backyard into an oasis. Split rail, English hurdle, basketweave and basic stockade fences are just a few of the options we offer.

Why CEDARTECH?

For starters, how does the fact that we build our fences on 2x4s sound? That’s right! We use twice the amount of wood than most others who use 2x3s.

In addition to our classic line of fence designs, we have a custom option that lets you build the wooden fence of your dreams. Just give us the details of your dream fence, and done! By the way, every Cedartech wooden fence comes with a one-year warranty.

Our line-up of red and white cedar fences is pretty cool. Our Good, Better, Best approach to products allows you to choose from multiple levels of quality and design. Simply stated, you can get the picket fence, rail fence, or privacy fence you want at a price you can afford.

Understanding the Difference Between Red and White Cedar

White cedar is naturally and consistently blonde in color and is milled into beautiful fence boards that are usually surfaced (planed) on the two faces and two edges. This wood weathers gracefully to a silvery gray and is very stable. Many coastal homes across New England are protected with beautiful white cedar roofs and siding. White cedar is typically milled and sourced from New England and Quebec. Its proximity to this region makes it very affordable.

Red cedar is naturally cinnamon in color and is milled into a wide variety of fence boards. The boards range from rough sawn to surfaced on all four sides. This fiber typically has a broad spectrum of color and weathers darker than white cedar. Red cedar is also very stable and has many other uses, including timber framing and interior carpentry. Red cedar is natural to the northwest coast of the United States and British Columbia, and is slightly more expensive than white cedar due to shipping distances.

The Cedartech brand of wooden fences includes both the red and white cedar species, giving you two fabulous options for your new wood fence. We visit our source mills and personally inspect the quality of the wood to offer you the finest products. Whichever wood you choose, you can expect the same great quality workmanship.

Want something a little more unique than the classics? We can make some tweaks or do something totally out of the box. Below are popular options to choose from, but remember: the sky's the limit!

1. Choose your fence style: First, identify the fence's main function. If you're looking for curb appeal, consider a picket fence. But if the reason you need the fence is to keep the dog in, privacy might be the way to go. This is also when you pick the fence height. Standard heights are 4, 5, and 6 feet.

2. Choose your top style: This is where you select the overall shape of the fence.

flat top style fence
domed style top fence
scalloped style fence

3. Choose your picket style: When you pick Flat for your top style, you get to choose a picket style, too.

  • dog ear picket style
  • cover picket style
  • gotchi picket style
  • french gothic picket style
