10 Reasons Your Dog Needs a Privacy Fence

For the most part, dogs don’t care much about privacy. They’re happy to go about their business where the whole neighborhood can see, so a privacy fence is not number one on their wishlist. After all, no fence is as exciting as a ball, pizza crust, or pile of leaves. For a dog owner, a fence is desirable for plenty of reasons, mainly keeping your dog contained and safe. Privacy fences have an added bonus: your dog won’t get distracted by the sight of other animals, and they won’t be seen either.

It may be a struggle to convince Fido, but here are 10 ways your dog will benefit from a privacy fence.

1. No one will see your dog’s gymnastics routine until it’s ready.

In your article, you mentioned that for a dog owner, a fence is desirable for plenty of reasons, mainly keeping your dog contained and safe and privacy fences have an added bonus: your dog won’t get distracted by the sight of other animals, and they won’t be seen either. My wife brought home a new dog for my birthday last night and this morning we realized that we don’t have a fence in our backyard. I wonder what types of fences would be best for keeping a dog in the backyard.

Hi, Derek! We suggest a solid panel fence since it has a flat surface without anywhere for your dog to stick his paws to climb. Also, high quality wood and vinyl or composite materials can resist charging and chewing. Thanks for reading and reaching out!

I really love how you focus on the humor behind our pet’s behavior and why that would warrant a pet fence. Truthfully, my cat happens to get out a lot and I don’t feel like our neighborhood is very safe. I would like to have a cat fence installed to make sure that he remains protected and secure.

It sure was funny when you said that one of the biggest reasons why we need a fence for my dog is that no one will ever see how embarrassing he can be at times when he does weird things. I am not really embarrassed by my dog, but I would like to keep him and his crazy antics to myself. Aside from that, I do not want to see him running outside early in the morning to scare a mailman. I will get a barrier fence right away. Thank you!
