Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning Your Vinyl Fence Panels
One of the major benefits of vinyl fences is that they are low maintenance, but that doesn’t mean they’re no maintenance. White vinyl fences, in particular, are prone to stains from algae, mold, mildew, and rust. If you want to keep your fence panels looking pristine, you need to clean your fence once a year to remove grime, dirt, plant matter, and algae.
We put together a handy graphic to show you how to clean your vinyl fence. This visual guide lists what materials you need and breaks down the process step by step. Check it out and see just how easy it is!
Note that the graphic walks you through cleaning your fence with a garden hose, which is likely all you’ll need. However, if your fence hasn’t been cleaned in a while, you may need to use a power washer. We have a guide for that too: How to Pressure Wash Your Vinyl Fence.

We are looking to replace our old wooden fence and are thinking vinyl is a good material option. It is good to know that it is good to clean vinyl fences each year to remove grime, dirt, plant matter, and algae. I am glad to be informed that the first step in cleaning is to gather needed materials. I will talk with my husband about this and we will make a maintenance plan for our new fence.
